On February 21, the 1st Ordinary General Assembly of the National Association of Mexican World Heritage Cities was held in Oaxaca City, with our host being Mr. Oswaldo García Jarquín.
In this Assembly the theme of the “Regional Attractiveness for Inclusive Development” in the cities that make up this Association was discussed. Project in which one works jointly with the OECD; as well as the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goal 11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities” of the 2030 United Nations agenda that we develop with the support of UNESCO Mexico.
As academic activities in the framework of the 1st Assembly, we were accompanied by Mr. Lourdes Berho Corona, President of the Alchemia Communications Group and former head of the Tourism Promotion Council of Mexico, giving the conference: “Tourism Marketing for a New Decade”, as well as Ciro Caraballo Perichi, who gave us a reflection on the beginnings of a conservation model of historical centers and their challenges.
Within the framework of this 1st Assembly, the working meeting of the tourism areas of these cities was held. In this meeting the participation of the Association in the 45th edition of the Tourist Tianguis in the City of Mérida was defined, as well as the promotional actions carried out by ETN and VOLARIS.
