FORMER TEMPLE OF SAINT AUGUSTINE

During the 16th century it was a spiritual house for the Franciscans and later they occupied their convent to the north of the city, the Augustinians came to occupy and improve the building, although with the Reform Laws the convent was lost and it became part of the State Government.

At this stage, its architecture was modified, using it as a Protestant temple, the sacristy was used as a canteen and billiard table, it was a neighborhood and parking lot, until 1948 when they began their work of protection and rescue.

The master Federico Sescosse was in charge of restoring the façade, it was founded on January 1, 1972, offering the services of concerts, conferences, editorial presentations and exhibitions.

In the sacristy of the Temple a petroteca was created where the blocks of carved quarry of the original façade are shown, where they are exhibited and what could have been the Ex Temple of San Agustín is projected.
